Same game, maybe less bugs. Maybe!

30/03/21(Tue)18:02

Will it be a good game now?

30/03/21(Tue)10:31

And only 28.8Gb :/

Patch 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to PC, consoles, and Stadia soon! Here’s a list of the most notable changes coming in this update:

Gameplay

- The NCPD spawn radius for when the player commits a crime has been increased.
- New Steering Sensitivity slider added to Controls settings. Allows reducing steering speed for all vehicles, on all input devices. Particularly useful for keyboard users.
- Adjusted the vehicle steering code to work better in low and extreme high frame rate situations to produce more consistent results. Improves steering on base consoles noticeably.
- Unstuck Rocking/Rotating feature added to all vehicles. Use Left Stick or A/D W/S or LShift/LCtrl to engage rocking and rotating to stuck/beached vehicles to try and free them.

And many more.

It's so easy for the tiniest little thing to cause instability in a computer. It can often take a long time to find the cause, if one can be found at all. Now get back to killing peeps!

22/02/21(Mon)08:43

Man, I feel dumb at times. Turns out the crashes were caused by the old power supply (and/or the motherboard), considering I changed those 2. Although I'm not to happy with the current psu, a be quiet! Straight power 11, as it has coil whine. Anyway..

Still need to kill 100 peeps with a melee weapon, it most likely will be with a katana rather than the dildo, or is it a vibrator?

04/01/21(Mon)20:53

>>36798 I'm sure I've missed a ton of things like that, but that's what will make it fun to play through several times.

02/01/21(Sat)06:45

>>36789 I just got the reference. Man, I'm old.
Apparently the game is littered with Easter eggs. I've only found a few so far (Heisenberg gig, Hideo Kojima, GlaDOS). Knowing me, I probably missed a lot though.

>>36789 DAMN, JC! Btw, I found a very OP revolver there, you too?

Been playing on 1440p again, and still no crashes. I did noticed it very slowly creeps up in system memory, max so far was 7,7GB.

Also I've set the pedestrians and cars to low which seems to keep the frames up. It is a bit empty now..

Just found a crashed bike by a railway tunnel with 2 dead guys by it. I laughed my arse off when I read the shard one of them had.

21/12/20(Mon)22:10

Strange that the saves would be corrupt, but I'm pretty sure the saves aren't locked to a specific install as people are sharing them on nexusmods.
I'm pleased you've not had any further crashes though.

For other reasons I did a clean install of w10.
My backed-up save games were corrupted according to CP2077, so a new beginning as street kid was needed. I played for 2 hours on 1080p, no resets or CTD's.

18/12/20(Fri)11:54

It's most likely a bug in the game engine related to memory management. Report it if it continues to be a problem.

17/12/20(Thu)17:49

No overclock, perhaps the XMP profile is messing it up? Or the game engine is fucked up?

I can play any other game without restarting. The witcher 3 has this issue too.

17/12/20(Thu)12:12

>>36773 Most likely the game wrote to protected memory causing the PC to reset. Windows is pretty good at protecting apps from writing to protected memory but games are still one area where this is a risk as they try to avoid the overhead of windows to gain a bit of speed.
Also if you are overclocking the likelihood of a hard reset is more likely, especially when gaming.

Well fuck, I played yesterday for 4 hours and at the end when I bought some new vehicle it crashed and restarted my pc!

I'm started to worry if it's my power supply; a 2013 Corsair AX760. However I can play all the latest Assassin's Creed games without any issue. This issue also happened from time to time in the Witcher 3. Weird.

Chunky, sluggish, and V8 sound :D

Mm..I looked at it and I'll pass. Game runs good without any ctd's or hard resets.

I'm doing a lot of side missions atm, lvl 23 street cred, got me Mantis arms an I'm 'appy now, boss.

14/12/20(Mon)17:54

Tested it a bit more and it didn't seem to do anything useful for me, and losing the quit game option in the menu was a pain in the arse.

14/12/20(Mon)16:45

Not sure if it's doing anything useful for me just yet but I did notice I get a debug option in the main menu now but also the exit game option has disappeared!?! I had to alt-tab out to close it from the task bar. I'll test it a bit more later.

14/12/20(Mon)16:20

My brother just mentioned a performance mod on nexus that's supposed to balance things between CPU & GPU a bit better than the base game does.
It's worked well for him on his older alienware laptop.

I'm going to give a go and see if it increases things for me or not...

Timestamp doesn't seem to work in the embedded link so skip to 13:20 for the non raytrace detes.

14/12/20(Mon)13:10

Digital Foundry have a great guide for the graphics settings to gain some frames.

>>36765 The usual game saves and reshades I see so far. Hopefully in time we'll see some good mods.

The cars don't handle like I'd hoped, but I'm sure we'll get used to them over time and some mods might help.

Cool & cool.

Cars are difficult and weird, most are vague in turning and horrible with the brakes. However this [pic] car is sluggish but corners good and the brakes actually work.

13/12/20(Sun)12:02

Things are much better now I've switched off the advanced camera motion thing. It's still a lot to take in for useless brain but I'm really enjoying it.

FYI, you can now drive the Quadra V-Tech from the original trailers for Cyberpunk in Forza Horizon 4 by winning it in a new street scene race in Edinburgh :)

Sorry to hear.

Yeah, I've disabled Motion Blur, Film Grain, Chromatic Aberration, DOF, and Lens flare. I left Contact Shadows on but disabled Improved Facial Lightning Geometry.
And I've set most if not all graphical settings on medium. I also turned FidelityFX CAS on and set the scaling to 80. Now I now get 100 fps, sure sometimes it looks not that great but it plays better.

The smoothness of the mouse becomes better at higher framerates so I do recommend lowering some details.

10/12/20(Thu)18:38

I haven't played much yet, the game gave me bad motion sickness with the default settings. This is something that happens for me since I got ME but never used to before. I've disabled a couple of things which should help and I'll try again later or tomorrow depending on when I feel well enough. I'm sure it will be fine once I get the right settings.

I'm running at 1080p on ultra/high, I didn't check the frame rate but I'd guess it's in the 40's or 50's mostly. It all looked great and I see there are plenty of options to play with if I do need to find a few extra frames.

No glitches yet but I'm hoping for the one I saw earlier where the guys dick is hanging out regards of whether he's wearing trousers or not XD

I'm looking forward to getting stuck in to it over the weekend.

10/12/20(Thu)08:49

So my average frames are 45FPS. It dips in cinematic and skyrockets in menus. This is set in default mode (ultra/high) at 1440p full screen.

I haven't experienced any bugs or glitches (yet) and the car didn't park on any roof. Driving and shooting doesn't feel as smooth as let's say GTA5 but I've only handled 1 car so far.
The game does look amazing though and has a great atmosphere and sound/music. Unfortunately I had to go to work otherwise I'd be roaming NC ;)

09/12/20(Wed)11:12

I haven't decided yet, but maybe nomad first as it would make sense that you didn't know the city already.

08/12/20(Tue)12:07

So what type will you play as; Nomad, street kid, or corpo elite?

07/12/20(Mon)17:42

>>36752 YAY!

07/12/20(Mon)16:04

Steam preload is live and only 58Gb. That probably means a big download on launch day too.

05/12/20(Sat)12:10

Preload date for PC will be the 7th (Monday)

01/12/20(Tue)20:52

The following preload info is for PS4, no details for PC yet as far as I know.

Base game - 71.73 GB (PS4)
Additional Day 1 patch also required.
Preload date - December 8th.

27/11/20(Fri)19:31

I never assume the game will look exactly like a trailer. Most people wanting to buy a game like this won't have top end computers so they will always make sure it works well on average ones.

27/11/20(Fri)18:33

>>36724 To clarify; it doesn't demand the latest cpu. And I think I saw a trailer but that could've been from a console.

27/11/20(Fri)18:31

The specs show that the game will not look as good as the trailers suggested, which is a pity. However if it looks as good as The Witcher 3 and runs similar then I'll be a happy fucker.

If by single thread I meant single core than the AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @ 4.9 GHz is the best one.

https://www.cpu-monkey.com/en/cpu_benchmark-cinebench_r20_single_core-9

27/11/20(Fri)16:34

I think it'll be fine on my 1080. I'm not that worried about not having ray-tracing.
It'll probably be good to play through this game again in the future when I have a newer system that can play with RT, but that probably won't be for a while yet :D

>>0 One thread CPU? Sure, I have a nice Intel 486SX25 here you can use ;P
