The witcher tv serie

I'm mildly intrigued and optimistic about this. Apparently his appearance is based on the books not the game, hence the amulet and 1 sword.

Well, there are many side quests ;)

I hadn't realised there were so many books!

29/01/20(Wed)11:49

>>36031 yeah, I think so. Much easier to read than the Fire and Ice series (GoT). I'm already at the second (e-)book (Sword of Destiny).

Are the books a good read?

Cool, now I can talk spoiler free.

Last week I bought all the books. It's a fun read and now I can see the changes they made with the games and show.

No, Dandelion was in the books, although not the first one. I believe the series takes place during that time. But maybe it's a stage name?

Not finished yet, but I figured the bard was probably a nod to Dandelion. I don't know why he isn't just called Dandelion, perhaps in the books that character doesn't exist or only comes in later on.

I haven't watched much in the last week except the odd film. I expect I'll get back to it soon.

Toss a coin, bitches

So, did you watch the whole season? Thoughts?

Okay, so the bard is Dandelion, just not in name.

I'm only 1 episode in so far but liking what I see. It turns out Henry is a big fan of the games too :)

I finished the Witcher yesterday and can say that they did a great job. I didn't mind that Triss wasn't a ginger or that Dandelion was absent. Henry did a great job and I liked Yennefer.

Some parts of the story was a bit odd but I haven't read the books so I'll leave it at that.

Can't wait for season 2.

Now on to His Dark Materials..

I think it's looking pretty good too, and people on reddit seem to be suggesting it is making good use of the bigger story in the books than we are used to in the games. I think this one will be worth watching.

20/07/19(Sat)00:13

yeah, that looks good. And I have nothing to watch anyway ;)

I'm sure it'll take a little bit of getting used as it's a character we know so well and yet it'll be played a different way. However I think it'll be worth a watch.
