Called 'Nail Houses' as "A nail stuck in a board". They're called this because of stubborn homeowners failing to budge, sell out and move because of new development.

It's quite amazing all this. You'd think China would just force them out, but I guess that's just for us lucky westerners :)
China has more nail houses than any other country. Evidently their land/ownership laws are fairly solid for not having to move for development's sake.
